"Lonny and I, together with family and friends have been going to the Point for meals since 1986.  Good food and in the former years, great live music for drinking and dancing entertainment.  We continue to go the Point for meals and family gatherings.  The food is perfect.  The Point Steak is a favorite as is the Friday night fish fry.  Have a glass of wine with dinner and the prices are very reasonable.  The service is also excellent.  Very friendly and enjoyable evening out for anyone's budget.  With regards to catering,  we have had the pleasure of using the Point catering now for two weddings at locations of out choice.  The price per plate, the food, the set-up of the buffet, the set-up of the tables and the service have also been excellent.  The choices are also ample and we have had no problem choosing how simple or elaborate we want to have our dinner.  We have also had a good friend use the Point for catering her daughter's wedding and found the same, happy ending.  Finally, we have used the Point catering for a surprise 50th birthday party, using the party room area at the Point for over 100 guests.  We were able to decorate as we like, had live music, great food, a personal bar and fun was held by all.  Overall, our experience with the Point has always been positive and we look forward to using the Point for catering a third wedding in the near future.  We highly recommend the Point for dinner out, family gatherings, and catering.  We give the Point a 10+ rating."  Janet Ambright

"Kudos to you and your staff!  You all did a great job for our daughter's wedding reception on July 11th, 2008.  You were very easy to work with, had good suggestions, and it was clear you were very confident in what you do!  You know what works and what doesn't.  Everyone enjoyed having salad at the tables - and it was excellent!  The buffet line was very attractively done and I heard many compliments on the fact that you never let the containers and/or the bowels get empty.  It always looked nice.  I especially loved the way you presented the fruit salad and the huge, overflowing relish platter.  They were beautiful!  We had countless compliments on the food.  My husband loved the salmon, as did I, and the beef melted in your mouth.  The food was fresh and not dried out and it was a nicely balanced meal.  (Yummy potatoes!)  I would clearly recommend your catering service to anyone planning an event.  You and your staff are very professional.  Thank you so much for all you did to contribute to a great evening!"  Judy Alme  Mpls, Mn

“Good old diners are becoming a thing of the past. Big chain restaurants are taking over, and the slice of the pie for the independent restaurants is growing ever slimmer. The Point has a lounge area with liquor and a band, a buffet area that opens later in the day, and a coffee shop that can seat about 25 customers at one time. I love the coffee shop. The coffee shop serves breakfast or lunch all day. You get a good-sized portion that is always good looking and great tasting. The staff is neat, clean, and usually smiling. Talk about handy with a coffee pot! You never get a bad cup of coffee there!
